Recordando

He estado recordando la sesión de fotos del lookbook del año pasado. El video de detrás de cámaras transmite la experiencia desde los preparativos, maquillaje, vestuario, locación y sobre todo la diversión. Próximamente podrán ver el lookbook de la colección otoño 2012, ha sido un proyecto emocionante porque tuve la oportunidad de trabajar con personas muy talentosas, pronto daré los detalles.

I've been remembering the photoshoot for last year's lookbook. The backstage video shares the experience from the preparations, makeup, outfits, location and above all the fun we had. 

Soon you'll be able to see the lookbook for the 2012 autumn collection, it has been an exciting project because I had the opportunity to work with very talented people, soon the details about it.

Hoy estoy celebrando un año más de vida, de felicidad y aprendizajes. Gracias a todas las personas que han sido parte de mi vida y que cada día la llenan de amor. 

Today I'm celebrating one more year in my life, of happiness and learning. Thank you to all the people that have been a part of my life and for filling it with love everyday.

Ya solamente faltan nueve días para Entijuanarte 2012, estoy afinando los últimos detalles, terminando nuevas piezas y preparando la decoración para mi stand. Han sido días de trabajo muy largos pero muy satisfactorios, pronto podran ver los resultados.

Only nine days until Entijuanarte 2012, I'm finishing new pieces, adding details and getting ready the decorations for my stand. It has been a hard work these days but satisfying, you will see the results really soon. I invite you to come and see the new autumn collection and to pass by to say hello, I'll be waiting for you! :)

Ya casi es mi cumpleaños y ya comenzamos a celebrar...es tiempo de usar vestidos bonitos y divertirme con mi nuevo hula hoop!

It's almost my birthday and we are already starting to celebrate...it is time to wear pretty dresses and have fun with my new hula hoop!

Preview Otoño 2012

El otoño es mi estación favorita, con los árboles transformando los colores de sus hojas. La colección otoño 2012 de Antología es un acercamiento a la naturaleza, con texturas y colores que nos transportan a una cálida tarde en el campo.

El estreno de la colección será en Entijuanarte (5, 6 y 7 de octubre), presentando accesorios con detalles bordados, carteras, anillos, vestidos, además de nuevos estilos de bolsas...siempre hay algo nuevo por descubrir en Antología.

Autumn is my favorite season, with the trees changing the color of their leaves. Antología's autumn collection 2012 is an approach to nature, with textures and colors that transports us to a warm afternoon in the field.
The premiere of the collection will be in Entijuanarte (october 5, 6 and 7), presenting accessories with embroidered details, wallets, rings, dresses, and also new purse designs...there is always something new to discover in Antología.

Como parte de los preparativos para Entijuanarte 2012 fui invitada al programa Hola Californias del canal SíntesisTV.  Tuve la oportunidad de hablar sobre qué es Antología y mi experiencia en el evento, ya que este año será mi tercera ocasión como artista expositor. Pueden ver la entrevista aquí. 

I was invited to the show Hola Californias of the channel SíntesisTV as part of the preparations for Entijuanarte 2012. I had the opportunity to talk about what is Antologia and to share my experience of the event, because this will be my third time participating. You can see the interview here.

inspired by Alt Summit

Ever since I discovered the existence of Alt Summit I fell in love. 

Alt Summit is an event held in Salt Lake City where blogger of all kinds (design, photography, fashion, food, events...) get together to share ideas, learn and connect; I think everything is great from the concept to the quality of the speakers...just seeing other years pictures makes me want to be there, I would really love to go someday!

The Alt team gives us everyday new opportunities to learn, because they are constantly sharing lots of advice and tips on their Alt Blog for the new bloggers (like me), particularly I think this post with 8 tips for great blogging is perfect because it covers all the basic aspects for a good start, from finding your style and concept to networking, there are lots of other inspirational and useful information out there. For blogging inspiration and business advice check out the new Alt blog. 

On another side, Alt recently launched Alt channel, with very affordable online classes for all the people that would love to attend the event but for some reason can't, this makes me very happy and I am excited because I just signed up for my first class this Thursday...The organized blogger.

Desde que descubrí la existencia de Alt Summit me enamoré.
Alt Summit es un evento en Salt Lake City donde bloggers de todas las clases (diseño, fotografía, moda, arte culinario, diseño de interiores, etc.) se encuentran para compartir ideas, aprender y conocerse; simplemente me parece genial el concepto, la calidad de los expositores...basta con ver las fotos de años pasados para querer estar ahí, realmente me encantaría poder asistir algún día! 

El equipo de Alt cada vez nos ofrece nuevas oportunidades, ya que constantemente comparten en su blog muchos consejos y tips para todos los nuevos en el mundo de los blogs (como yo), particularmente creo que este artículo con 8 tips para mejorar tu blog cubre todos los aspectos básicos para un gran inicio, desde encontrar tu estilo y concepto hasta las maneras en que te puedes dar a conocer. Realmente les recomiendo que sigan la página si estan interesados en este tipo de temas, para mí es una inspiración diaria.

Por otra parte, recientemente Alt ha comenzado a ofrecer clases en línea, para todas las personas que desearíamos poder ir pero por alguna razón no podemos, lo cual me hace muy feliz y estoy emocionada porque me inscribí a mi primer clase este jueves...The organized blogger.

Flowers everywhere

La vida cambia cada día y este verano ha cambiado la mía. 

Han sido meses de buenos momentos, paseos y aventuras, también con algunos días tristes y melancólicos...y además en gran medida han sido meses intensos de trabajo. 

Conforme se acerca la fecha para Entijuanarte hay flores en todas partes en mi estudio.

Hay veces en que Antología tiene mi vida de cabeza, pero ahí es cuando me doy cuenta que realmente me encanta mi trabajo y poder tener la oportunidad de crear algo nuevo cada día.  

Life changes every day and this summer has changed mine.

These months have been filled with happy memories, trips, adventures, also some sad and melancholic days...and in a big part months of intense work.

As the date for Entijuanarte comes closer my studio is surrounded by flowers.

Sometimes Antologia has my life upside down, but that's when I realize I really love my job and the opportunity to create something new every day.

Estoy a punto de partir a mi viaje...por lo que Antología tendrá un breve descanso, me reportaré de regreso el 18 de junio. ¡Que tengan bonitos días!

I'm about to leave on my trip...that means Antologia will have a small break, i'll be back for june 18th. Hope you have lovely days!

Hace poco tiempo que Tania y yo descubrimos que podíamos compartir la ropa, de vez en cuando hacemos intercambio de vestidos. Esta vez me prestó un vestido color mostaza, que tiene botoncitos atrás, lo combiné con mis zapatos pilcro (¿recuerdan que ya les conté de ellos? los flats más cómodos y hermosos del mundo) en uno de mis colores favoritos y además tienen unas mini raquetas de metal...como siempre lo he dicho: los pequeños detalles hacen la diferencia.

Estoy muy emocionada por los días que vienen, tomaré unas vacaciones y hoy empezaré a hacer mi maleta. Mañana les contaré a dónde iremos :D

Tania and I just discovered we can actually share our clothes, so once in a while we exchange dresses. This time she lent me a mustard dress, it has buttons in the back, i mixed it with my pilcro shoes (remember i told you about them? the most comfortable and beautiful flats in the world) in one of my favorite colors and they have cute metal tennis rackets...as i've always said: the little details make the difference. 

I'm really excited for the upcoming days, i'm taking a vacation and today i'm starting to pack my bags. I'll tell you tomorrow where we are going :D

Este fue un día en el que Tania y yo nos leímos la mente, sin saberlo elegimos rayitas y color coral, fue sorprendente descubrir que nuestros atuendos eran iguales solamente invertidos. No cabe duda que hay una fuerte conexión.

This was the day that we read our minds, without knowing we both choose stripes and coral, it was amazing to discover our outfits were the same just inverted. There is no doubt there is a strong connection.

Anne Boleyn

Hace algunos meses elaboré unas piezas para Margaret Paredes-Rivas (fotográfa freelance de San Diego). Especialmente le diseñé una pieza rústica y bohemia, una flor tipo magnolia, con hojas azul turquesa y un toque elegante con brillos en el centro de la flor.
Maggie me compartió los resultados de la sesión de fotos en donde incluyó el accesorio Antología.
Su inspiración fue Anne Boleyn (2da Esposa del rey Enrique VIII), me encantó el manejo de colores, el contraste del naranja con el azul, así como la fusión del estilo antiguo con una influencia moderna en su vestido, en conjunto las imágenes reflejan belleza y feminidad con un toque místico.

Gracias Maggie por comprartir tu trabajo con Antología.

A few months ago i made some pieces for Margaret Paredes-Rivas (a freelance photographer based in San Diego, CA). I designed her specially a bohemian piece, a magnolia style flower, with blue leaves and an elegant detail with sparkles in the center of the flower.

Maggie shared with me the results of the photoshoot where she used the Antología accessory. 

Her inspiration was Anne Boleyn (2nd wife of King Henry VIII), i loved the use of color, the contrast between orange and blue, and the mix of ancient style with a modern influence in her dress; overall the images reflect beauty, femminity with a mystic air.

Un domingo de paseo en Seaport Village, con personas que quiero, solecito y aire fresco.
Son las cosas sencillas las que llenan mi corazón.

p.d. La última foto fue un momento espontáneo, el aire sopló fuerte y mi cabello voló, al ver la foto me siento como La Sirenita, que debo decir que era mi película favorita de niña :)

A Sunday trip to Seaport Village, with people i love, sun and fresh air. The little things fill my heart. 

p.s. The last picture was a spontaneous moment, the wind blew strong and my hair flew, seeing the picture makes me feel like The Little Mermaid, and i must say it was my favorite movie as a child :)

Eclipse

Como muchos ya saben, ayer 20 de mayo ocurrió un eclipse solar, nos preparámos para verlo (de manera segura) haciendo nuestra propia pinhole camera con una caja de zapatos, de esta manera lo que vemos es la proyección del eclipse.
Hicimos varios experimentos, con un espejo y hasta con una papita! Hicimos nuestro pequeño centro de investigación en el parque; otro fenómeno interesante que produjo es que las sombras se distorsionaban como medias lunas.

Fue muy bonito observar el proceso desde su inicio, viendo cómo evolucionaba el eclipse hasta que el sol parecía una luna. ¿Alguien de ustedes vió el eclipse?

As many of you know, yesterday may 20th a solar eclipse happened, we prepared to watch it (in a safe way) making our own pinhole camera with a shoe box, this way what we see is the projection of the eclipse. 

We made several experiments, with a mirror and even with a potato chip! we made our small research center in the park; another interesting phenomenon was the distorted shadows. 

 It was very beautiful to observe the process from the beginning, watching the evolution until the sun looked like a moon. Did any of you watched the eclipse?

Feliz día de las madres

Hoy se celebra especialmente a todas las mamis, es un día para recordárles lo mucho que las queremos y valoramos en nuestras vidas. Felicidades a todas las mujeres que han tenido la dicha de ser madres, que Dios las siga bendiciendo con días de alegría junto a sus seres queridos.

Gracias mami por ser siempre mi amiga, mi apoyo y ejemplo a seguir, y junto con ella a mi abuelita, porque sin duda alguna son la inspiración y motivación para crear a Antología.

Today we celebrate mother's day, it is the perfect ocassion to remind them how much we love and appreciate them in our lives. Congratulations to all the women that have had the joy of becoming mothers, may God bless you with many more days with the ones you love. 

Thank you mother for always being my friend, my support and role model, and along with her to my grandmother, because they are certainly my inspiration and motivation to create Antología.

baking cookies

He querido un mandil de Anthropologie desde hace mucho tiempo, son tan hermosos que parecen vestidos, finalmente tengo uno, para celebrarlo Tania y yo horneamos galletas de chispas de chocolate.
Hacer galletas es una tradición de nuestra amistad, pero cocinar utilizando mandiles bonitos hace la experiencia aún más divertida, tanto que ahora quiero aprender nuevas recetas.

I've been wanting an Anthropologie apron for a long time, they are so beautiful that they look like dresses, i finally have one, to celebrate we baked chocolate chip cookies. 

Making cookies is now a tradition of our friendship, but cooking with pretty aprons makes the experience even more fun, so much that now i want to learn new recipes.

El fin de semana hice una visita a Ensenada por cuestiones de trabajo, como recompensa la mejor manera de terminar el domingo fue con una visita a Camelia Tea Shop, es un lugar hermoso que cuenta con una gran variedad de té, me encanta la decoración, los detalles, los candelabros, cuadros...hasta las tazas son bonitas y además todo está delicioso, esta vez decidí aventurarme y probé el Caramel Rooibos ¡me enamoré!

 Solo tengo algo que decir: Camelia por favor vengan a Tijuana :)

Over the weekend i made a small visit to Ensenada for work stuff, as a reward the best way to end Sunday was with a visit to Camelia Tea Shop, a lovely place that has a wide variety of teas, i love the decoration, the details, the lights, frames...even the cups were pretty and above all everything is delicious, this time i decided to try something different and the Caramel Rooibos was divine!

I just have one more thing to say: Camelia please come to Tijuana :)

green & fun

Este es mi segundo pantalón divertido, mis pantalones verdes.
Para mí color es igual a diversión, tal vez sea solo yo...pero usar colores brillantes realmente me hace más feliz. ¿Recuerdan cuando experimenté con este nuevo peinado? pues se volvió uno de mis favoritos, es bonito, original y además muy cómodo, estoy segura de que lo usaré mucho este verano.

These are my second fun pants, my green pants.

To me color equals fun, may be it's just me...but using bright colors really makes me happier. Remember when i tried this hairstyle? well let me tell you it has become one of my favorites, it's pretty, original and also very comfortable, i'm sure i'll be using it a lot this summer.

Tenía tiempo queriendo unos pantalones de colores y este es el primero de ellos.

El primero para la colección es rosa intenso, el problema con los pantalones de colores es ¿con qué se deben de combinar? la solución lógica sería un color básico como el negro, pero no era perfecto para mí...conclusión...rosa + rosa :) 

De alguna manera estar toda rosita me hacía querer un algodón de azúcar, me encantó el experimento pantalón brillante y ahora quiero pantalones de todos los colores, especialmente necesito uno rojo!

p.d. próximamente mi pantalón verde.

I have been wanting some colored pants for a while and this is my first one.

The first for the collection is hot pink, the problem with colored pants is: how should i wear them? the logic answer would be with some basics like black, but that didn't seem perfect for me...conclusion pink + pink :)    Somehow being all pink made me want a cotton candy, i loved the bright pants experiment and now i want one in every color, specially i need a red pair!

designlovefest workshop!

El taller de designlovefest fue muy divertido y lleno de color. Había muchos materiales para realizar nuestro propio 'inspiration string', globos, postales, diamantina, hilos, tape, etc; las mesas eran un hermoso desorden. Fue un largo camino el recorrido para ir desde Tijuana hasta Glendale, sin embargo fue una aventura muy bonita que pude compartir con mi mejor amiga.

 Estaba muy emcionada por conocer a Bri Emery de designlovefest (uno de mis blogs favoritos) ella es una mujer llena de creatividad, energía y es una inspiración diaria para mí, por esta razón quise llevarle un detalle Antología que diseñé especialmente para ella. Como sé que le encantan los colores brillantes y los estampados, hice un broche en color mostaza, rosa (colores que utiliza en su blog) y una tela de bolitas blanco y negro.

Regresé a casa con una sonrisa en mi rostro, ahora mis 'inspiration string' están en mi estudio y complementan perfectamente a mi pared mostaza! 

The designlovefest workshop was fun and filled with color. There were a lot of materials to make our own inspiration string, ballons, postcards, glitter, threads, tape, etc; the tables were a lovely mess. It was a long drive from Tijuana to Glendale, but it was a great adventure that I shared with my best friend. 

I was really excited to meet Bri Emery of designlovefest (one of my favorite blogs) she is a woman full of creativity, energy, and she is a daily inspiration for me, this is why I wanted to give her an Antología gift that I specially designed for her. Because I know she loves bright colors and pattern, I made a brooch using mustard, pink (colors she use on her blog) and polka dot fabric.

I came home with a smile on my face, now my inspiration strings are on my mustard wall, and I think they were meant for each other.
